Hello Céline, You are at the head of the Big Blue, so what are you doing during this quiet period related to COVID-19?
Céline: Our days are busy. On the one hand, we have drawn up a charter for the health and safety of our customers and employees for the takeover, we are teaching the children of the staff and on the other hand, we are creating new layout and decoration in the bungalows.
Does this mean that you have several jobs?
Céline: Exactly. I was a teacher for children from 3 to 13 years old in a maxi family bungalow, overlooking the sea, which can accommodate up to 10 people. Schools have been reopened for a week, so I stopped this job. I am currently an interior decorator of bungalows.
How did you start your career as an interior designer?
Céline: Very simply by imagining and using the natural products of our environment.
For example, we made a bamboo ladder with our technical team as a towel rail.
How are you going to proceed for all the bungalows?
Céline: Today, we have built a first show bungalow. We have already received encouragement. We will continue with this type of design and colour, with different particularities for each bungalow. Thus, the interior decoration of the "Espadon" bungalow will be distinct from the "La Langouste" bungalow.
Do you have a particular theme regarding decoration?
Céline: The majority of the bungalows have a view of the sea and for the outside a duo of "white and blue" colors. With this maritime aspect, we have created an interior of light and elegant shades allowing a simple and unusual atmosphere.
What is your goal?
Céline: We have fun with the team imagining, designing and realizing. This time spent together, in these difficult moments for humanity, is already a finality. We are even happier when we contemplate the result. Yes, it's a real pleasure to imagine these beautiful decorations. I'll let you discover the photos of the first show bungalow.
The reopening of Nosy Be is officially on October 1, 2020 with already 3 flights per week with Ethiopian Airlines.
