National Day in Madagascar
Madagascar's National Day, celebrated on June 26, is a moment of great importance and pride for all Malagasy people. This date commemorates the country's independence obtained in 1960 after decades of French colonization. Every year, Malagasy people, both in urban and rural areas, gather to celebrate this memorable day with a series of festive events, ceremonies and cultural events.
On this occasion, on the eve of the National Day, we decided to organize a small party with our staff to mark this event in a meaningful and generous way. The spirit of solidarity and sharing being at the heart of our values, we have also planned to distribute 50 bags of basic necessities (PPN) to the most disadvantaged in the village.
The preparation of this party begins well before the big day. Our team comes together to plan every detail to ensure everything runs smoothly. The day before, our office is transformed into a place of celebration. The decorations, mainly in the colors of the Malagasy flag – red, green and white – are carefully installed. The atmosphere is filled with joy and conviviality, with patriotic songs that resonate and remind everyone of the importance of this date.
The highlight of this day is undoubtedly the distribution of the 50 bags of PPN. These bags contain essential products such as rice, oil, sugar, soap, and other basic necessities, the bag itself is locally made and reusable. For us, it's a way to give back to the community and support those in need. The distribution is done with great respect and dignity, each bag being given personally to the beneficiaries.
The participation of our staff is also a moment of relaxation, strengthening of bonds and the team spirit is palpable. A festive snack and drink prepared with care by the Grand Bleu team are shared with the families.
In the evening, as the festivities continue, we take a moment to reflect on the significance of this day. The National Day is not only a day of celebration, but also a reminder of our history, our culture and our unity as a nation. It is a day to honor the past while looking to the future with hope and determination.
On June 26, Madagascar is adorned with its most beautiful colors, and every Malagasy feels a deep sense of national pride. For our part, the party of the previous day and the distribution of PPN bags allow us to celebrate this day with a heart filled with gratitude and solidarity. This tradition, which we cherish, is a way to contribute, in our own way, to a better future for our community and our country.
