Trip to Nosy-Be: Marodoka and its heritage

In Nosy-Be, what attracts tens of thousands of travelers, or the 30% of tourists in Madagascar? The seaside resorts and their many activities, with its beaches and surrounding islands with landscapes worthy of a fairy tale! See you at the hotel Le Grand Bleu! He has everything to satisfy you, but there is more to it than that. History buffs find their account. A friendly team can take you hiking in Marodoka.

If we talk about modernity, nowadays, Hell-Ville which is a few minutes from Marodoka surpasses it for sure, but so much the better! The authenticity of Marodoka is its appeal. Now a tourist site, it is home to a rich heritage. The ensemble formed by the old port, the first mosque of Madagascar, the cemeteries of the Indians and the ghost house is eloquent enough for your guide to tell you a fascinating story, that of Nosy Be.

The old port recalls the dynamism of the city in the nineteenth century. It was the crossroads of various transactions between the rich traders, owners of dhows who shuttled along the west coast of the red island, between the Boeny region and Menabe. Arab merchants took up residence there. The first mosque built in Madagascar is there. It is one of the prides of the island. This is one of the proofs of successive civilizations. After the Arabs came the Indians. The cemeteries of the Indians perfectly tell the history of the island. And around the ghost house, let's let the mystery hang... until you manage to pierce it!

During our stay at Le Grand Bleu with our 2 children, we had the opportunity to visit the village of Marodoka. For us, cultural visits are as interesting as the beaches or a day under the umbrella.
